Nigerian hitmakers, D’Prince, Timaya and Sean Tizzle have not had their MTN endorsement deals extended. On Wednesday, May 27, 2015, MTN unveiled its latest set of ambassadors which featured majority of the celebrities who signed endorsement deals with the telecommunication company in 2014. According to reports, Fuse; an affiliate of the booking agency said the stars who failed to get new gig with the company are not on MTN’s new list. Others who didn’t have their deals renewed were iMike (the second winner of MTN Project Fame), Afrojuju legend Sir Shina Peters, and on-air-personality Yaw. The new ambassadors are Iyanya, Praiz, Chidinma; The Mavin Crew – Tiwa Savage, Dr Sid and Don Jazzy, Banky W, Comedian Hafiz Oyetoro (Saka) as well as OAP/Comedian Nedu of Waziobia FM Lagos, KCee, Harrysong, Sound Sultan and KCee. Mr. Allassane Dramane Ouattarra, has told the African Union Commission Chairperson, Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, that he will retire after his second term as President, if elected. The AU Commission Chairperson informed the press after an audience with President Allassane Ouattara on Thursday 28th May 2015. The AU Commission Chairperson met with the President of Côte d'Ivoire on the margins of the 50th Annual Meeting of the African Development Bank (AfDB) taking place at its Headquarters in Abidjan. The council, on Tuesday, gave letters of termination of appointment to the Registrar and the Bursar, Dr. Julius Faniran and Alhaji Fatai Lasisi. The termination of their appointments followed the recommendations of the Visitation Panel set up by the governor. The panel probed the allegations of financial misappropriation and mismanagement in the university. But the university’s chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has rejected the decision. In a statement by its Chairman, Dr. Abiona Oluseye and eight other officers, the union said the action was done in bad faith. The union also said the sack was prejudicial and violates the principle of equity and fairness.
